Wedding Centrepieces on a Budget

It's important to keep this wedding looking stylish even on a budget. As soon as you go to the florist as start deciding on your flowers for you centerpieces and the extravagant glass and mirror wear surrounded by crystals....oh please be a bit more original.  Get your family and friends to lend you as many glass vases as possible......

Then the day before the wedding hit the flower stall or Sainsbury's, Tesco or Asda and seek out some nice flowers set yourself a budget of £100 and that is is...no more.....and that should be enough money to cover at least 10 tables.  Ask a family member, friend or neighbour if you can have some foliage from their garden....Laurel is lovely as it has that waxy look, or privet which smaller.  Then buy some ribbon of your colour choice and wrap it simply round the vase like below....

Budget Wedding Continued......cakes

Hello Darlings,

We all want fabulous extravagant wedding cakes. Well you can even on a budget..... Sainsburys sell 12 fairy cakes for £100.  So lets say you have 50 Guests... that's going to cost you £5 for the cakes with 10 left to practice on and eat!!! If you really wanted to you can put them into different cakes to match your theme.  Either way this is not going to break the bank. Now for the decoration....good butter cream is easy to make and can be coloured.  This is probably going to cost you about £10.00 tops.  The for the topping you can do anything from sugar spinning, fruits, chocolates.  As long as you put plenty of sparkle on they will be a great hit..... and you will have fun experimenting.  Get people involved  - this is a great task for your Mum, Nan, Auntie or best friend x

Budget does not mean Boring Wedding

http://www.which.co.uk/money/bills-and-budgeting/guides/budget-weddings-cut-the-cost-of-your-big-day/top-style-tips-for-a-beautiful-budget-wedding/

Be daring  - your bridesmaids don't all have to look the same.  Often buying Bridesmaid Dresses can be an expensive part of the wedding, especially when they have to be altered to fit individual sizes.  So set the budget and give your Bridesmaids the money (trust them, they don't want to shame you at your wedding or embarrass you.....there is nothing stopping you all shopping together!)  Your Bridesmaids will look more fabulous because they will buy shapes that compliment their figure.

50 Wedding Anniversary Ideas

When a couple have been together for as long as this, then I am sure it can only be Love that keeps them bound together for such a time!

Anyway when researching for a 50th Golden Wedding Anniversary Party, what I found on the internet was a plethora of garish gold, gold balloons, big gold 50's, gold on gold, more gold on gold, gaudy gold, gold everything and generally too full on for my personal taste, I have to say I was not inspired at all.

Whilst 50 years of putting up with each other is something to be shouted about I am thinking more along the lines of subtle, yes definitely subtle let the WOW part be something more special and amazing to celebrate this couples well deserved special day....Not an explosion of latex!!

We want this couple to feel they are getting married all over again....maybe they will...

Venue - Find somewhere fresh, light and interesting

Cake - I would choose Linda Fripp.  If I was in the US then without a doubt it has to be Sylvia Weinstock - with Linda's can do anything attitude, I am sure she could come up with something spectacular or a added twist to one of her fabulous cakes.
Tables -Keep them fresh and light - Name the Tables or type up cards that tell a story or funny moment the happy couple have experienced
Food
Where ever possible find out what the happy couple love the most and try to incorporate it or a variant of it into a or some dishes.
Definitely canapes and most venues have really yummy ideas.
Find out what the couples first date drinks where....try and incorporate, and if viable into the meet and greet reception drinks...

Starters - Bacon and Brie in Filo is nice start to the meal
Main -  Roast or Chicken with lots of vegetables as the main.
Dessert - Get their favourite pudding made shipped in....

Entertainment
A table magician would go down well
Depending on their era...i.e. 60's early 70's, or if they are Jazz fans or Classical you can incorporate this.
Get them to play the wedding game....it's a lot of fun. Include speeches and first dance, with a confetti moment.

Include on the day photos of the happy couple through the years...it may take a bit of time but try to get photos of the main events, births, grandchildren weddings and birthdays they attended, special events, awards and put them in chronological order pegged in a long line around the room. It is likely to inlcude a photo of most people in the room and a way to acknowledge all the family in their 50 years. Try to use photocopies so they do not get lost or damaged.

Tie up the evening with a firework display....this is sure to be a night the Couple will enjoy and remember.

Any photos from the day compile them into a photobox book and give to them as 50th Wedding Anniversary gift.

Not a Gold balloon in sight....however I could not miss out a Gold 50 somewhere..go with something subtle like wine charms on the ladies wine glasses......

Take a break ...go fly a kite

Baby Shower Cake Idea

Please can someone have this cake for their baby shower......it's sooo adorable and looks so so cute...

Events on a Budget ££££???

Look at this beautifully decorated cake......This is M&S.  Cakes from M&S tiers are from £12.00 up £55.00. So you can have as many or few as you require.  Decorating is your choice but I really like this one...it's looks very pretty. Pink Gerberas and Butterflies on wires, ribbon and the diamantes used in the Gerbera centres are relatively inexpensive to buy.  You could re-produce this look and be more extravagent if you wanted something bigger..
